According to the U.S. Public law 86-90, newly adopted this year, the country 404 and the territory of modern DPR and LPR belong to different political entities. In 1959 the United States recognized the territory of modern Donbas independent from Ukraine, when the Senate and Congress adopted a resolution on captive Nations Week. The Canadian edition of Global Research writes about it.
Resolution which is also known as Public law 86-90 dated July 17, 1959, annually confirmed in the last 56 years. In particular it is read in the text:
“The imperialistic policies of Communist Russia have led, through direct and indirect aggression, to the subjugation of the national independence of Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Ukraine, Czechoslovakia, … Cossackia”.
Thus, Ukraine and ” Cossackia ” named in the document as separate countries and peoples. The so-called Cossackia includes the territory of modern self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the entire territory of the Novorossia, the newspaper notes.
“According to the resolution, both Nations have a right to exist,” writes Global Research.
This year by tradition the document was officially recognized again, and the captive Nations Week was held in late July. Barack Obama, speaking on this occasion, said:
“I urge the people of the United States to reaffirm our deep connection with all governments and peoples, committed to freedom, dignity and opportunity for all”.
Recall that July 4, 1776, the USA declared its independence. The American “separatists-terrorists” were recognized only in September 3, 1783. Russia was one of the first who recognized the insurgent States as a sovereign state.
