Professional rock climber from the Donetsk People’s Republic Oleg Paliy together with climbers from Russia ascended to the highest point of the South American mountains – the peak Aconcagua, raising to the top the flag of the DPR.
This became known from the message of the press service of the Ministry of youth, sport and tourism the DPR.
“From the 23rd of January to the 13th of February, 2016 under the auspices of the Federation of mountaineering of Moscow, the expedition made an ascent to the highest point of South America. Master of sports in mountaineering from Gorlovka Oleg Paliy participated in the expedition. On the 6th of February, the flag of the Donetsk people’s Republic was raised on mount Aconcagua with a height of 6962 meters,” have informed in the Republican tourist Agency.
It is worth noting that earlier climbers from Donetsk conquered Elbrus, where they also hoisted the flag of the People’s Republic. The event was timed to the celebration of Victory Day over fascism. Later, the group had climbed Mount Kazbek in Georgia, and conquered the nameless height of the Caucasus, after which this one was named after the Donetsk People’s Republic.
