Serbia between East and West

A new history of Serbia can be characterized in different ways, but one thing is clear – quiet it was not. However, forgive readers for the tautology, there is nothing new here. The country is situated on the border of Catholicism and Orthodoxy, Christianity and Islam, Western and Eastern civilizations, the eternal “bone in the throat” empires that broke on their teeth a lot of great conquerors, it never could boast of stability. If in Serbia it was constant, so that is Orthodoxy and a deep connection with Russia, Russia as a Bastion of hope for people of common faith, who built a house on the junction of major routes of Europe.

In the maelstrom of the modern world, when all is relativized, black and white are constantly swapped, yesterday’s terrorists suddenly become freedom fighters, age of truth and the foundations of the fun eliminated, and faith turns into its opposite, not only Serbs, but many other Nations see Russia as a bulwark of a healthy conservatism and practically the only country that has a material and, above all, spiritual potential, to oppose the wave of the present Satanism in all sides of human life.

Through the prism of these two factors, there is a deep commonality of worldview and historical ties with one hand and threatening to absorb all the wave of liberalism on the other hand, and perceives the people of Serbia what is happening in the middle East. In Serbia they understand that the “Arab spring”, ISIS, provocation with Russian SU-24, the war in Syria and Iraq, the wave of immigrants in Europe, the Kiev Maidan, the war in Novorossia and the NATO expansion to the East are parts of one mosaic, which put our evil friends across the ocean, never minding the fate of countries and peoples, I do not speak – individuals. However, it seems now clear to every reasonable person. Only intentionally can’t help, but notice that democracy is rested or to the borders of Russia, or to the oil fields.

We must say that Serbia is one of the first to come under the heel of a campaign of NATO to the East. In the 90s, when many in Russia believed that with the disappearance of the conflict of capitalist and socialist systems have disappeared and all the geopolitical issues, on the heads of Serbs already rained bombs of NATO, laced with uranium. The West spared no effort trained and supplied arms to the enemies of the Serbs in the wars of the 90-ies, the main blame for them are stacked once again on the Serbs (?!?).Therefore, the behavior of NATO in the conflict with ISIS was not a surprise for us. As no-one in Europe the Serbs know that the US and NATO love to have their “sons of bitches” that they realize their goals. What these hands are often stained with blood, no one cares, because after the mission, former fighter for independence and human rights can be returned to the level of terrorists, or even transferred to the category of enemies of democracy.
As for Turkey, there are not a dozen Serbian Proverbs warn that one cannot trust the Turks, they are unreliable allies, can easily turn into enemies. That the Serbs have learned in their own skin and they studied it too long, for 500 years. In historical retrospect, more recently, the Ottoman Turks burned Serbian monasteries and sold in the slave markets of Istanbul Balkan slaves. It should, however, be noted that the Turks did this not only for fun but also in retaliation for the ongoing uprising: the Serbian people never give up trying to free themselves from the Turkish occupation. But even now, when, apparently, the history of the Turkish conquests in the Balkans is over Turkey and then casts a bloody shadow on the region: we all know about its support for Islamic fundamentalists in Bosnia in the wars of the 90s, and about the support it has generously provided and provides to Albanian separatists in Kosovo. That there is only one Erdogan’s statement made during the official (?!?) visit to the so-called “independent Kosovo”: “Kosovo is Turkey, Turkey is Kosovo”. So, no matter how insane may seem at first glance, the idea of the return of Turkey to the Balkans, this is the think. History does not like the bad students and makes them again to study the old lectures.

From the foregoing it is clear, on whose side the sympathies of the Serbs in the incident with Russian plane in Turkey. For us it is another example of a treacherous stab in the back, received Orthodox from Turks.

Another factor relevant to the issue under consideration and in General is highly relevant for Serbia: expats. The Serbian people, like the Russian, still hurt to watch the suffering of others. And the game organizers of the “great Exodus” of Muslims from prosperous and not quite Muslim countries (among refugees, surprisingly, little or not at all Christians, although ISIS them and pursues the most). And for those who are less exposed to manipulation, the EU has a whip. Serbia does not support the moderate opposition, it did not create al-Qaeda and ISIS, its economy was destroyed and the ecology was destroyed. And yet, in its territory grow the refugee camps and slowly starts to seem (and some of the powers that be have already expressed such ideas openly) that this is a project to change the structure of the population. That is, the destruction of the rebellious Serbia from the inside through assimilation, changing religious and cultural profile of the population.

So now the feelings and comments of the ordinary man in Serbia about Russian air strikes on ISIS can be briefly and aptly expressed by the words: “Finally. Now the Russians can fight them”.
Unfortunately, at the Serbian political elite, standing in power, the situation is exactly the opposite. It’s hard to understand because, like it or not, people at the helm of the country are Serbs. They all saw what happened to country in the 90s, all they know their own history. However, they are leading the country straight into the iron embrace of NATO and the EU. Our government, as before, tries to sit on two chairs: avoiding any statements that would define its attitude to the roles of the parties in the conflict with ISIS and the incident with the downed SU-24, the power of flirting with NATO and the EU, from time to time by sending to the Russian Federation delegation and taking an equally high-ranking delegations from Russia. Like … the delegation from Turkey – mandatory declarations about the “neutrality and development of friendly relations with all.” The pro-western media created an image of Russia as a source of vast, unpredictable and all-destroying military force. People they gently bring up the idea that it’s time to flee under the protection of NATO from a huge, kind, but clumsy and unpredictable Russian bear. If you look at recent events in Montenegro, it is clear that it is dangerous right to declare the Serbian people on the final turn to NATO and the EU. However, we all know about the technologies of change the public opinion, I’m not talking – the falsification of the decision of elections and referenda. It is therefore not enough to rely on common sense and historical tradition. We want the full, large-scale return of Russia to the Balkans. We must remember that, as history shows, the attack on Serbia is almost always a dress rehearsal of war against Russia.
