In Zaporozhe under the law about the “de-communization” at least another four monuments and three plaques will be dismantled. Their list was approved at the March 2 meeting of the regional Commission on the elimination of “symbols of totalitarianism” and the return of historical names in the region.
So, in the list of monuments and memorials those are to be removed, were the following objects of the regional center:
1. The Monument to Kirov;
2. The monument the “Heroic youth”;
3. A statue of Lenin and Gorky;
4. The monument to M. A. Kuzmin, the Minister of ferrous metallurgy of the USSR;
5. The plaque of Vsevolozhsky, the 1st Secretary of Zaporozhe regional Committee of the Communist party of Ukraine;
6. A plaque in honor of stay in the factory of Kalinin and Ordzhonikidze;
7. The plaque of Androsov, the Secretary of the Zhovtnevy district Committee of the Communist party.
In addition, calling himself the head of the Department of culture Vladislav Moroko noticed that the list of memorable characters, those are to be removed will be updated.
“Some of the objects we just haven’t noticed. We invite the public to help us in their identification,” said the henchman of Bandera.
Some of these objects were immediately voiced during the meeting. Ukrainian nationalists drew attention to a memorial board to Dmitry Ul’yanov (prospect Congregational, 66, in front of the monument to Dzerzhinsky), a plaque of Brezhnev (on the corner of the Dniepovskaya and Alexandrovskaya), a plaque of Drobiazko and a board dedicated to Alexandrov, the revolutionary Commissioner, at the student clinic.
A total of 46 monuments and memorials were included in the list of objects that are subject to removal. The decision to dismantle them now must be approved by “the head of Zaporozhe regional state administration”.
