UEFA did not like Putin on a t-shirt of the player of the Moscow “Locomotive”. Now the club could face with punishment by the organization for the act of halfback Dmitry Tarasova.
As you know, the Union of European football associations do not allow the holding of political actions at the games.
Tarasov took off his shirt at the end of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League with the Turkish “Fenerbahce” at the Istanbul stadium “Sükrü Saracoğlu”. Under it was a t-shirt with a portrait of Vladimir Putin and inscription “the most polite President.”
The player explained his action: “This is my President. I respect him and decided to show that I am everywhere with him and is ready to support”.
This game was the first for the Russian football clubs in Turkey after strained relations between the two countries. It all started well for “the Locomotive”: the Turkish club met Muscovites at the airport in Istanbul with flowers. But before the match the fans of “Fenerbahce” club threw stones at the bus of fans of “the Locomotive”.
The meeting ended with the score 2-0 in favor of “Fenerbahce”. Now it is necessary for “the Locomotive” to win back 2 goals. The return match will be held in Moscow on January, 25. And will supporters of Turkish football go to the capital of Russia, time will tell.
