To find a donor among the young citizens of the country can only for the amount from 6 thousand euros. Latvians are willing to sell a kidney to pay for the wedding or to repay the debts.
According to a survey carried out by the Latvian newspaper Diena, young citizens of the country are ready to abandon their kidneys and other organs for money.
As noted by the publication, although the official line for donor organs are only a few dozen people, the Internet is full of people willing to sell their organs for an amount of 6 to 20 thousand euros.
As part of the experiment of journalists, the next morning after the publication of the announcement 19-year-old girl, who was looking for seed capital to start her business, addressed with the desire to swap a kidney for money and 20-year-old boy, ready to part with the organ in order to cover the cost of the wedding and to pay off debts.
The journalist of the newspaper Diena was able to personally meet with possible donors, but further conversation was interrupted by the employees of the State police notified about the experiment.
As the representative of the Department Tom Sadowsky explained, frustrated donors gave a written explanation; the police are investigating for violation of the law. The results of the nvestigation will be known in the next two weeks.
In accordance with applicable law, the sellers of own bodies do not face criminal liability. Criminal liability threatens only for active in the illegal removal of organs.
There are “achievements”, which led the country union with the EU, where the Ukrainians so zealously tend. Moral impoverishment and willingness to trade own body became the norm in Latvia. After the collapse of the USSR with the filing of the EU the Soviet legacy “was cut on scrap metal”, and the younger generation was left without a job or prospects. The same fate waits and the jumping Ukrainians seeking in the European Union. Only in Ukraine the picture was even worse: the entire legacy of the USSR they have been “stolen” and sold out, the land stays only. And, of course, people can be used as voluntary donors, on the cheap. Just at this time the Latvians will end.
