If Kiev will refuse to admit that Ukraine from the Nazis was liberated by the USSR, which today enjoys a Central Executive body of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory, Warsaw will gain a legal tool for requirement of return of “illegally seized during the occupation of property.” With this caveat at a press conference in Kiev, was the head of the Ukrainian Institute of analysis and management policy Ruslan Bortnik.
He recalled that in the last parliamentary elections in Poland won the right politicians, many of whom are considering Ukraine as a “zone of its expansion”, and Western Ukraine as “the primordial territory” and the land where large measure shaped “Polish culture and the Polish nation.” These forces, he said, has been strengthening its influence on Ukrainian policy and there is a new dynamic question of restitution in Western Ukraine.
“I do not think it’s fast, but quite real when extending the Association Agreement with the EU – said Bortnik. – And if we follow the instructions of the Institute of National Remembrance, dating back to the liberation of Ukraine in 1944 as a change of the German occupation of the Soviet, of course, the Poles will have absolutely legitimate political tool to claim the restitution, the return of its facilities in Western Ukraine. Thus we open the way, create the potential to deprive the invaders of Western Ukraine its property located in these territories. We find ourselves in this geopolitical trap”.
