On the 3rd of June, on the Pushkin Boulevard, residents of the capital of the Republic gathered to tell the world about the failure of Kiev assumed obligations and compliance with the Minsk agreements. June 1, 2016, the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko announced the beginning of collection of signatures under the petition for the failure of Ukraine resolution the UN Security Council “On approval of Complex measures on implementation of Minsk agreements”.

Thus, the public of Donetsk initiates an appeal to international organizations with a call to stop genocide of the Donbass people by the Kiev junta and to stop the punitive operation called “ATO”.
Addressing the protesters, head of the Voroshilov district administration of Donetsk Vladislav Latyntsev said:

“Dear friends, almost a year and a half has passed since we are living after the conclusion of the so-called Minsk agreements. Despite this, we observe everywhere their violation and non-compliance by the Ukrainian side. During the so-called ATO, according to official data only OSCE for March 2016 on our land more than 10 thousand people were killed. Life and crippled lives of our countrymen is the price paid by the people of the Donbass for the inhumanity, brutality and lies of militaristic government of Ukraine. The Head of the Republic recalled that on the17th of February, 2015 the UN security Council unanimously adopted a Resolution on Ukraine in support of the Minsk agreements, including in the package. The Resolution states that all parties to the Ukrainian conflict should be fully complementarity the Minsk agreement. The document also stresses that the conflict can be resolved only peacefully”.

However, as it rightly was pointed out by Latyntsev, for the year and a half after signing the agreement, Ukraine did not begin to implement the Minsk agreements.

“Kiev is engaged in imitation of actual steps and delays the process of peaceful settlement by false techniques and excuses. Even the first paragraphs of a package of measures were not making by Ukraine, which precede a political settlement. Kiev does not comply with the ceasefire regime, continues to fire at our cities, including from heavy weapons, in violation of paragraph No. 2 of the set of measures. Amnesty prescribed in the item No. 5 – is not adopted. The Ukrainian side simulates the process of release of hostages and exchange of prisoners, on the basis of the principle “all for all” prescribed in the item No. 6: Ukrainian prisoners taken with arms in hands, they are trying to convert people, captured by SSU on false pretexts, often do not have to conflict in any way. At the same time, our comrades and thousands of political prisoners are still in Ukrainian prisons.”

According to the head of the Voroshilov district, the West is beginning to realize that all of this is sabotaging the Minsk agreements, and that peace in the Donbass is beneficial to all, not to Kiev.

“We’re going to prove that millions of our fellow citizens are waiting for peace and an end to this nightmare. If we can prove that the truth is for the people of Donbass, then any country in the world will not be able to turn tacitly blind eyes to the lawlessness, perpetrated in our land, and any propaganda machine will not be able to resist us. The whole world understands that Ukraine voluntarily it to perform the Minsk agreement will never be. It is therefore necessary to put pressure on it. We want to live, to grow, to raise children on our beautiful earth of Donetsk,” said Latyntsev.

In turn, the Deputy Head of administration of Kiev district of Donetsk Gennady Misko built his speech in the form of a living dialogue, encouraging participants of the rally to be active in signing petitions.

“I would like to convey greetings from the Kiev district – one of the most affected area of the city. Tell me, how long will be allowed Kiev and Ukraine to do iniquity, and not maintain agreements that they themselves signed? How long the world community is indifferent to turn a blind eye? We have today a great opportunity to show them that the residents of the Donbass want peace and do not want war!”

The head of the NGO “Young Republic” Sergey Kondrykinskiy also urged residents of Donetsk to be an active, speaking strongly against the imposition of the military mission on the territory of Donetsk People’s Republic:

“Today, the Western world imposes Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics military missions, although this is contrary to all the Minsk agreements. I am grateful to the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko for the fact that he took the initiative and announced the collection of signatures. At our gatherings we want to prove the world community that we are opposed armed mission in the Donbass, and any armed people who will come here from other states. We have a state, all existing authorities, the interior Ministry and the army. We have peace and order. All petitions, collected from all over the country, we will give to international organizations and say “No!” to armed missions, and say “Yes!” to the people of the Donbass and the Donetsk People’s Republic. We are for peace! Stop killing people in the Donbass!”

Recall that the collection of signatures lasts for two days. In Donetsk more than 2000 signatures were collected, in the country – about 8,000. Everywhere in the walk-through points of cities of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the pickets will be on display where citizens of the DPR will be able to come and express their civil position. On the 30th of May, a special cancellation of the stamp, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the first higher education establishment of the Donbass took place in the first building of Donetsk national technical University.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of education and science of the DPR Larisa Polyakova, Deputy Minister of communications of the DPR Alexander Ryzhkov, acting rector of DonNTU Konstantin Marenych. In honor of the anniversary of the oldest University the State enterprise “Post of Donbass” has produced art stamp No. 39 “Donetsk national technical University,” first day cover “the Logo of DonNTU” and a special postmark of the first day “Donetsk national technical University.

“We deliberately chose the Donetsk national technical University, because it is the oldest University of the Donbass, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary. I’m flattered to participate in this event because I myself am a graduate of DPI. This is my home institution,” said before the ceremony, Deputy Minister of communications of the DPR Alexander Ryzhkov.

Jazz concert “JAZZLAND” of the big band orchestra of the Donetsk musical College named after S. S. Prokofiev under the direction of conductor Konstantin Polishchuk took place on the 23rd of May in the Donetsk state academic Philharmonic. Winners of international competitions, students and teachers of the College have performed the best jazz standards, popular songs, vocal and instrumental works, including authorial ones. The works of Oleg Lundstrem, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Joe Zawinul and other famous jazzmen were performed in the first part of the concert program. Songs and compositions belonging to the authorship of teachers and composers, in particular – Vladimir Shershnev, Tatyana Chicherova, Vladimir Krasnokutskiy sounded in the second one. The audience especially liked – “Song of Donetsk”, “Still” and “Dance-jazz”.

We will remind that Oleg Leonidovich Lundstrem was a Soviet and Russian jazzman, composer and bandleader. He was honored artist of the RSFSR, people’s artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the State prize of the Russian Federation. The Oleg Lundstrem orchestra has been a permanent participant of major international jazz festivals such as “Tallinn-67”, “jazz Jamboree 72”, “Prague-78”, “Prague-68”, “Sofia-86”, “Jazz in Duchowne-88” and a number of international festivals on the territory of the former USSR.

A rock concert of Donetsk young bands entitled “Live Donbass” took place on May, 21 at the amphitheater at the monument to Pushkin, that the common people called “Head”.

Reviving a long tradition of street sessions, the musicians performed under the open sky.

A group “Polyphony”, fronted by Dmitry Guts opened the evening. The guys playing “soft rock”, performed driving and dynamic song, not their own, and cover versions.

Among them there was the song of our countryman Venya D’rkin — “About him”. This evening there was also “Teach”, “unknown group”, “Cocktails”, “Carefree” and others.

The second one was “Mist Station” (“Station of fog”) – the group that recently released their debut single “Cigarettes and coffee”.

The guys surely went out to the public, having played a little scene of a telephone conversation. Setting a humorous style, the musicians throughout their speech, joked and joked, told funny stories.

Ironic and self-ironic lyrics combined with powerful guitar riffs. Descended from misty station sang – “Cigarettes and coffee”, “Life”, “Be yourself”, “Aspirin”, well, very unusual version of a mega-popular at the time song group “the Beetles” “the Battery”.

The concert ended with the young and the restless “Lost Pages” playing in the style of pop-punk, alternative rock, post-grunge-oriented and foreign old school rock music.

The only team’s girl Diana Chumak impressed everyone with her strong, emotional vocals and performing style, reminiscent of the voice of the legendary Suzi Quatro.

Recall that the concerts on the “Head” took place regularly prior to hostilities. Today musicians want to renew the experience of playing in the fresh air.

At the moment negotiations are underway with the city administration. It is possible that the concerts will be moved from the boulevard of Pushkin to the dance floor of Shcherbakov’s Park.

At the close of the 84th season, July 3, will be a Symphony concert featuring pianist from Scotland – Peter Seivewright. Next season the organist and a balalaika player from Germany will also come to us. In addition, a violinist from Sweden is visiting us. We are already negotiating, and he is ready. But most interesting is that in June we will host the concert of organ music, in which a Ukrainian from Kharkov will be the soloist. Large-scale librarian youth festival “Reading Boulevard” was held this Friday on May, 20 in Donetsk on Pushkin Boulevard near the fountain “Rivers of the Donbass”, which is popularly known as “the Seagull”, as well as the results of the Republican campaign “a Book for a book – read!” took place.

In the framework of the Year of reading event organizers have arranged for the citizens of Donetsk and guests of the capital library under the open sky. So, come on this fine day on the sunny Boulevard were expecting master classes on making cards, making bracelets, creating “dream catchers” and other decorative products.

There was also traditional beech-crossing – book exchange, through which guests of the festival were able to replenish their home libraries and share with others by read books. Stand with books stood on Pushkin Boulevard. In addition, the library staff agitated passers-by to join the readers. The program of the festival included various competitions and quizzes.

Local rock musicians entertained those who came to “Reading Boulevard”. Note that the rock bands on this day have gathered more than ever. “During active hostilities in 2014, the festival was not held. I’m glad that the tradition was resumed in holding this festival and glad we were able to carry out a Republican campaign – “book by Book, read!”, which was aimed at promoting books and reading among the youth. It was held in different nominations such as “Poster”, “Song”, “Trailer”, “Quatrain” and “Slogan”, and was directed to the young people created their works, which would stimulate the reading of books. Only 38 participants had. Some participated in several categories, choosing the winner was very difficult. But, nevertheless, the jury coped with the task. Books, drawing kits and notebooks are prizes, of course. All that will help talented people to create new things.”

At the ceremony, congratulating the winners, Deputy Director of the youth library Natalia Kovalenko, said:

“I want to congratulate you on the fact that you took part in such an amazing contest. I really got lucky: I was Chairman of the jury. I lived with you all the amazing book history that you’ve created, and once again saw how all of you are talented, you are all done. To all participants thank you very much!”

Also awarding was held by the members of the jury – a poet and translator Lermontova Rose, lead singer of “Echoes of the rainbow”, a member of the “Union musicians” Maxim Romanovsky and a representative of the radio “Kometa” Victoria Klepikova.

Nadezsda Ispanova, student at Donetsk national University, specialty “design”, won in the nomination “Poster” shared her impressions with the correspondent of YIA:

“I am very pleased that I won. It makes me really happy. My work is designed to encourage reading. I encourage all to read and to raise their intellectual level. Reading enriches a man.”

Premiere of the documentary “the Sheet music of the war. Life on the line of fire” by German Director Tom Franke took place in the Donetsk cinema “Star” on May, 19.

Note that the main character of the movie dedicated to the war in the Donbass, became Tom’s friend – a violinist and composer Marc Hayot, he is a native of Kramatorsk and emigrated twenty years ago to Germany. In April 2015 Marc Hayot came to his small Home, in order to see with his own eyes the war, which is completely ignored by the Western media.

The documentary, lasting 90 minutes, talks about the journey of the German guests on the territory controlled by Kiev and to the Donetsk People’s Republic. And if at first Hayot feels cozy and comfortable in native Kramatorsk, to get to the Donetsk once, realize how terrible face of war is, which was unleashed by Ukraine. Especially the musician was struck by the outskirts of the city, which has become ruins, destroyed infrastructure, night attacks and the hypocritical silence of the OSCE. This film was made to break the information blockade.

Before the screening, Director of “the Sheet music of the war” talked with representatives of the media. Marc Hayot took over the function of an interpreter. “Since the beginning of the emergence of the Maidan and military conflict, we were concerned about this topic. It’s especially because of one-sided coverage of these events in Germany and European media. And it was important for us this trip in order to see everything with our own eyes and evaluate. Firstly we were in Kramatorsk, – it was the first leg of our trip, and then we arrived to Donetsk. We were struck by the difference between people. First impression was – residents of the Ukrainian Kramatorsk not feel very comfortable in front of cameras, and therefore in the process of filming we were faced with certain difficulties.

Although we met mostly with friends, longtime friends and family of Mark, there were moments when movie characters have even been asked to turn off the camera. The people in Donetsk are incredibly warm and hospitable. We are truly amazed,” said Franke.

According to the author of the film, for twenty years he engaged in documentary cinema. Moreover, he acts not only as Director, but also as cameraman. His own movies Tom began to create nearly fifteen years ago.

“First and foremost, it was important for us to premiere it in Donetsk. Also in July, the film will be shown on television in Germany. And perhaps in Russia, particularly in Moscow,” assured the German guests.

Then a famous bard of Donetsk, member of the writers’ Union of the DPR Vladimir Skobtsov addressed the gathering with words of gratitude. He said:

“Thank you so much that you came to the cinema “Star” on the premiere of the film about the war in the Donbass through the eyes of German filmmakers. It’s our friends, the Germans, does – not Nazi Germans. Who were not indifferent to what is happening in the Donbass in the most difficult moment of our history. Under universal default of the Western media, when we are tried to roll up the into asphalt and wiped off from the face of the earth only for the fact that we live here, these people did not remain indifferent, they took the camera and came to make a film about the Donbass. Mark drove his friends through the Ukrainian border, where they interviewed residents of the occupied territory. On Tuesday, May 17, in the Donetsk house of workers of culture was held opening of photo exhibition of works by students of folk Studio “Mig” of Donetsk city Palace of children and youth creativity. The exhibition includes 120 works by thirty-two students and graduates of the Studio.

The ages of the authors ranged from 10 to 25 years. All photographers wanted to show the bright and wonderful world, to draw attention to the extraordinary in the ordinary, to reflect the beauty of nature and the joy of childhood. Hence there is the name – “Ordinary miracle”.

The Director of the house of workers of the culture Mayan Borisovna Kalinichenko, addressed the audience with these words:

“I bow to you guys! This is Grand exhibition. There are a lot of talents in Donetsk, especially among young people. It’s so important to feel peace. From the 13th to the 16th of May at the Central exhibition hall “Manege” (Moscow) is held the XVIII international festival “Intermuseum”. The theme of the festival this year – is “Museum without borders”. The main goal is to draw attention to the Museum as an important instrument of intercultural dialogue.

According to organizers, the event is not only a Museum presentation, but discussion and “round tables”, involving exchanges of experience and establishing of a broad spectrum of business contacts. The program of “Intermuseum” also provides for a competitive part, where the Museum projects are competing for the title of best. The Chairman of the jury of the competition program of the festival – is the General Director of the Museum “Moscow Kremlin”, the daughter of the first cosmonaut Elena Gagarina.

According to the organizers, 72 regions of the Russian Federation, including the Crimea and Sevastopol have submitted their projects in the “Intermuseum”.In absolute terms; these are 316 museums, including 7 foreign members.

“Besides the fact that we’ve involved museums from all Federal districts, museums of China and Iran are participating for the first time. Germany is involved again. As for the CIS countries, the museums of the Republic of Belarus, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are involved with us,” said Chairman of the organizing Committee of the XVIII International festival “Intermuseum-2016”, first Deputy culture Minister of the RF Vladimir Aristarkhov.

Donetsk Republican Museum, restored after the severe shelling of the APU, was the special guest of the festival, as well as four museums of Lugansk. The attention of colleagues from around the world, as well as numerous spectators, the Donetsk team presented the program “Life restored”, describing their unique experience of recovery and rebirth in the midst of fighting.

The festival of extreme sports and active recreation “Donbass extreme fest 2016” was held last weekend on the territory of recreation area “Weir” of the national landscape Park “Zuevsky”.

The festival, which started on May 13, was a long-awaited gift for fans of extreme sports. Representatives of a large number of sports organizations and communities of the Republic, including such famous athletes, representatives of the Federation of mountaineering of the DPR took part in the event.

The program of the extreme festival was very diverse and fascinating. Here you can find interesting to do at absolutely any taste: master classes on rock climbing, slacklining and yoga, cycling, rope crossing, paragliding – all in the beautiful atmosphere of good mood and positive.

Saturday evening was marked by bright and really “Groovy” rock concert. Khartsyzsk’s groups “Hata zKray”,”Route 77.7″, “Eugenics”, “Blackbird” and Donetsk’s “the Riot” have provided music component of the extreme festival.

Despite the fact that due to weather conditions, the organizers of the festival had to cut before the scheduled three-day program to one day (it rained all day in Sunday in Zuyevka), it is possible to assume that “the extreme fest” was a success. The main proof of this can serve numerous reviews of the festival participants, their smiles and the whole sea of positive emotions.

Musical and poetic evening dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov took place on May, 15 in the premises of the writers ‘ Union of Donetsk People’s Republic.

“I think that 125 years for classic is still a “child” age,” said addressing the meeting a young poet Anna Revyakina. By the way, as a joke, she brought a bottle of sunflower oil than it raised the spirits of all present, who appreciated the subtle humor (it is enough to remember the legendary phrase from the famous Bulgakov’s novel “Master and Margarita”: “Annushka has already bought sunflower oil, and not only bought, but even spilled”). Revyakina read her poem about Moscow – city, which is closely related with work of Mikhail Bulgakov.

Donetsk poet and singer Vladimir Skobtsov noted that the language of Bulgakov and the language of Gogol are thoroughly poetic.

Skobtsov together with science fiction writer and poet Vladislav Rusanov performed zongo (genre, coined by the German poet and playwright Berthold Brecht). Rusanov read excerpts from the novel “Master and Margarita”, and Skobtsov sang songs, written on motives of this novel. All the audience appreciated the musical and literary performance.

Mikhail Bulgakov was born on the 3rd (the15th) of May, 1891 in Kiev in a family of professors of the Kiev theological Academy. At the age of 16 he lost his father. He studied at the medical faculty of Kiev University, but was compelled to interrupt his studies due to the outbreak of the First World War. He worked in the Kiev hospital, treated numerous wounded arriving from the front. During the Civil war he was mobilized into the white army as a military physician. After the defeat of the whites he, however, remained at home. He began to cooperate with Newspapers as a columnist, but he also created his first plays. Then he moved to Moscow.

Despite the complex relationship of the writer with the Soviet regime, he was highly esteemed by I. V. Stalin. The play “Days of the Turbines” was staged at the Moscow art Theater with great success – Stalin believed that it is useful for the Communists.

Family day was celebrated on the15th of May in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In honor of this holiday in the capital of the DPR the youth organization “Peace” held a concert in which pupils of children’s homes of family type, Donetsk artists and activists of the Youth organization of the “Peace” took part. The event was held under support of the Donetsk state youth center under the supervision of the Director and mentor of the youth organization Natalia Usova.

Comperes began the concert in a great mood and immediately infected with their enthusiasm of all those present in the hall.

During the celebration the guys demonstrated their talents: children recited poems dedicated to the family, which they lack in life.

Activists of the “Peace” tried to make everything that for children it was fun and interesting. They were able to make new friends and discover their talents. Especially notable were very young artists: Nikita Babrovsky and Jeanne Zamdhanova. The girl has impressed everybody by her artistry and energy. She skillfully transformed from a gatherer of berries into a delicate ballerina, and ballerina came in charming and funny Russian beauty, a lover of sunflower seeds. The boy has impressed by his amazing voice and touching performance. He sang songs dedicated to mother so heartfelt that tears came into the eyes of some guests of the concert.

The concert is not done just dances, songs and poems. The Nikitins family gave the audience a real tale “About Princess Vasilisa”.

After that the children had demonstrated their talents, there was a surprise – a real quest. Activists divided children into three groups. Each group was in a section in which participants earned their tickets to the cinema, where after the quest and the concert program guys were able to unwind by watching an exciting cartoon.

Concert “Legends of Russian rock” was held on the evening of the 14th of May on the stage of Donetsk bar “Gung’Yu бazz”. Group: Amusant Antenna, Douglas, People eat people, as well as musician Green Lazovsky took part in it.

Group “Amusant Antenna” by Nautilus’s song “Khaki Ball” has opened the concert. In the performance of “Antenna” song sounded unusually tougher and at a faster pace. In addition, the guys sang songs of group “Kino” and “Agatha Christie”. The musicians completed their performance by playing several of their songs.

After that Green Lozovsky came on the scene. Starting with “the Civil Defense” “We walk in silence,” he played the songs of “DDT”, “Aquarium”, “Alisa”, “Different people” and group “Zero”. The first stage of the national sailing competition “Sails of Victory” was held on May, 10 in the waters of the river Kalmius. About twenty people took part in the regatta, 10 sailing catamarans went out on the water. Concert of artists of Donetsk state academic Philharmonic society took place on the evening of the 9th of May in the courtyard of the library named after N. K. Krupskaya. The concert program was called “For all remaining life”. It included songs dedicated to the great Patriotic war. String ensemble “Ricercar” performed on the stage and soloists-vocalists Lydia Moses, Dmitry Khoteyev and master of artistic expression Eleanor Shavlo.

The organizers created in the courtyard of the library a warm, cozy atmosphere. a field kitchen was Working, and everyone could try hiking porridge, which was served with a salad and tea. Solemn laying flowers to the monuments to F. A. Grinkevich and K. A. Gurov was held this morning, on May 7, in the capital of the DPR.

Veterans of the great Patriotic war, the head of the city administration of Donetsk Igor Martynov, head of administration of Voroshilovsky city district Vladislav Latyntsev, as well as students of schools of the city participated in the event.

Despite the rain, many people gathered in the square near the monument. A brass band played. Students in the pioneer forage caps and ties, lined up a live corridor, were holding flowers and red balls, meeting veterans, shouting “Thanks for Victory!” Cadets of Donetsk combined arms command school were at the monuments honor guard in dress uniforms. The mood was festive.

Veterans along with the mayor and the head of administration of the Central district laid flowers to the monuments. During flower-laying gun salute sounded.

Students in Metropolitan schools and high schools, pupils of houses of children’s creativity and literary studios showed their talents at the competition of artists for the best greeting card to the veteran “The holiday of the Great Victory!”, the photo essay contest “a Memory through the years” and the competition of readers “Word of memory”.

“You are our beloved friends – the heirs of Victory. We are pleased to welcome you to the Great Patriotic War Museum, where every exhibit tells the story of a feat, about the exploits of our countrymen, about the deeds of those who liberated the Donbass,” appealed to the students the head of the Great Patriotic War Museum Lyudmila Decurno.

On May, 6 at the military historical Museum of the Great Patriotic War took place the opening of two exhibitions, devoted to the 71st anniversary of the Great Victory. The first of them – is the exhibition of the Donetsk military-historical club “the Great Patriotic war in miniature”, and the second one is philatelic exhibition “Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”, illustrating the history of Stalino-Donetsk.

Familiarizing the visitors with a new exhibition, a press-the Secretary of the military historical club Sergey Unichenko had performed a short tour for everyone. Presenting the exhibition, he said:
“Dear friends, in these warm days of May we celebrate one of the greatest holidays of our people and States – this is Victory Day. Our grandfathers and great grandfathers by blood had got freedom for our nation, destroying the Nazi evil. The exhibition “the Great Patriotic War in miniature” – this is the second part of the exhibition, the first was opened last year, and everyone who wanted was able to see the exhibits. This year is almost 90% of the updated exposition. As always different genres of stand modeling were presented – this military-historical miniatures, and dioramas, and posters models of aircraft, armored vehicles in a practical scale. The scale of all international and brought is under the general standardization, i.e., it 1:72, 1:35, 1:30. All you saw was true and accurate copies of what flew, swam, drove, fought in those great years.”

Special attention deserves the military-historical miniature. “Each club member is free to choose the topic that is close to him. But as today we have gathered with a single purpose – to honor the memory of our ancestors, those who fought in the Great Patriotic War. Therefore, we have provided for your judgment of the work of our club members, different scales and different subjects – aircraft, armor and historical miniature”.

Then the children presented to the guests and read poems, dedicated to the Victory Day. After pre-school children in the framework of the action “Immortal regiment” pupils of the 8th class of the SCHOOL № 54 of the Kiev district of Donetsk city in turn came to the microphone and spoke about their heroic ancestors.

In another hall of the Museum visitors could see an exhibition of postal miniatures devoted to the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition includes 180 envelopes, with the exception of the exhibits from these collections and cards issued by the youth organization of the DPR – authorship owned by the famous collector of Donetsk Vladimir Zakharov.

“All the materials that are here, connected with our city. In the Soviet Union and after its collapse, in the former Soviet republics there were a lot of materials on the Great Patriotic war. But it is for our city in the Soviet Union only five envelopes were produced. There are editions of the Donetsk club and private collectors’ editions. All of this is philatestic material. After touring the exhibition, you can learn about the heroes of the Soviet Union, the natives of our city who lived studied and worked here. You can learn and perhaps to remember about the monuments, the streets that bear the names of heroes of the Great Patriotic War. It also includes materials about the monuments to workers of organizations and enterprises who died during the war. Each card or envelope addressed to a certain person or event. Many materials reflect the movement of the underground and partisan,” said the author of the exhibition.

In the Museum of the city Khartsyzsk was the opening of the new exhibition “In our peaceful home the war came, the Donbass in the firing line”. This gala event was attended by representatives of Khartsyzsk city administration, the soldiers and officers of the army of the Donetsk Republic, as well as the families of the deceased militia residents of Khartsyzsk.

Deputy of National Council of the DPR from ML “Free Donbass” Sergey Tsyplakov and the American volunteer Zack Novak were invited as guests of honor. The event was also attended by the Chairman of Khartsyzsk City Organization “Union of the Strong-willed” Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Desyatov.

Exhibits of a new exhibition are telling the Museum visitors about the heroic events and the people of Khartsyzsk — participants of the Russian Spring and the future of armed clashes in the Donbass. This included photographs of the fighting in the cities and towns of the “big” Khartsyzsk, personal belongings, letters, notes and documents of fallen soldiers of the army of the DPR. Also here are samples of light and heavy small arms, ammunition and uniforms of soldiers of the army of the young Republic.

After familiarization with the exposition of each and every person gathered in the hall of Khartsyzsk the Museum for the gala evening, which was opened by the acting head of the city administration Alexander Levchenko. With words of deep gratitude, he asked the Museum staff and thanked them for the done the hard work. Alexander Levchenko also noted that such exposure, to date, is the only in the whole country – which makes it unique.

After the speech of the head of administration of Khartsyzsk, the main ideological inspirers of this project – the senior researchers of the Museum Marina Petrova and Sergei Gurov presented documentary-a chronological essay on the events that took place in the Donbass two years ago. And they told everyone who came about the heroic lives of the countrymen, who first stood in defense of the independence of Donbass and gave their lives for it. Among them, there are the now legendary Cossack chieftain Oleg Aniskin and the commander self-propelled howitzer battalion Oleg Boscardin.

“The main purpose of our meeting today is to perpetuate the memory of our Khartsyzsk guys who gave their lives for the independence of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” said the Director of Khartsyzsk the Museum Marina Vodianova.

On the 2nd of May, the Donetsk children’s railway has opened a new, the 44th consecutive season. A lot of people came to the opening. The queue for tickets stretched out on the hall of the station “Pioneer’s” and went far beyond the building.

Many people well-known in the Republic came to the grand opening: members of the National Council, Ministers and heads of social movements. Among them there were – the Deputy Chairman of the people’s Council of the DPR Olga Makeeva, the Minister of education Larisa Polyakova, Minister of communications Viktor Yatsenko, the acting Minister of transport Igor Andriyenko, the Chairman of the NGO “Young Republic” Sergey Kondrykinsky.

“Children’s railway is, first and foremost, an institution of further education, where children have the opportunity to learn interesting and necessary profession. After a month of summer vacation will begin. During them young railway-men will undergo practical training, applying the knowledge they received in the classroom in the winter. Now, I want to wish them a successful finish the school year and well demonstrate them during practice on the railway,” said Polyakova in her speech.

At the opening of the young railway-men addressed the audience with poetry and musical performances. The children showed that their passion does not boil down to only one railroad. For example, a young railway employee Eva brilliantly played the saxophone.

During the stay of the train at the station “mining” the passengers were able to visit the the Museum of the Donetsk children’s railway which was opened on the same day. Number of Newspapers “Gudok” and “Railroad of the Donbass” of half a century ago were represented in the Museum, photos and documents on the history of the Children’s railway. There are form of young railway workers from different years, old kerosene lanterns of the walkers and even the bell, which had previously notified the passengers about the arrival and departure of trains. Note that the Museum first opened in 2006, for the first time in 10 years took visitors. Before that the Museum was not working due to lack of funding.

After events the train has successfully brought the passengers back to the station “Pioneer’s”.

The opening of the anti-fascist film club “Red carnation” was held on the evening of the 28trh of April in the reading room of the Donetsk Republican library for youth. At the first session of the film club was shown a documentary film by Mikhail Romm “Ordinary fascism”.

“We are opening an anti-fascist film club. It’s called “Red carnation”. This flower became a symbol of the anti-fascist movement not only in the Soviet Union, but also in many countries of the world. At meetings of the club, we will show how Soviet cinema and foreign. Among the films will be not only documentary, but also art,” told the correspondent of YIA “Novorossia” the co-founder of club Denis Levin.

He noted that for the first session of the club the film “Ordinary fascism” by Romm was chosen because this film most clearly demonstrates the problem, showing all the ugliness of fascism and allows us to understand, in fact, what woe fascism has brought to mankind.

“The problem of fascism is becoming more urgent with each passing day. And I’m not just talking about Ukrainian fascism, with which the people of the Donbass now are fighting, but also the fascism in many other countries of the world in which it is today, unfortunately, raised its head,” said Levin.

The club presentation was held for the audience in the beginning of the session, as well as a definition of fascism by Georgi Dimitrov – one of the first known anti-fascists. In addition, the main features of fascism, highlighted by the famous historian and writer Umberto Eco were read. After watching the film, a discussion was held, during which participants discussed what they saw.

Not many people came to the first meeting – only about ten. However, the organizers hope that over time the audience of the club will grow. According to them, meetings of the cinema club “Red carnation” will be held once a week on Thursdays. More than 300 films selected for screenings. Exhibition “Easter souvenir” was opened on April, 27 in the small hall of the Donetsk Republican Museum of local lore, on the eve of Easter and in honor of the 170th anniversary of the birth of famous Russian jeweler Carl Faberge. More than three hundred works were included in the exhibition, most of which – the work of the participants of the open Republican competition of masters of decorative and applied arts, creative unions, students of primary educational institutions specialized arts and other centers of children and youth creativity.

I have been doing painting for about two years. After learning about the contest, I decided just to participate, not thinking about winning. I wanted to see other people’s work, it is so interesting. April 27, Donetsk state academic Philharmonic society opened a Small hall. The new hall seats only 60 people and is designed mainly for the performance of chamber music. Speaking to reporters, the Director of the Philharmonic Alexander Paretsky said:

“The opening of a Small concert hall can rightly be called a long-awaited. We were going to open it at the end of March, but circumstances are such that the opening had to be postponed for a month. The small hall was necessary for the Philharmonic, because there are non-standard little-known works for the true music lovers that are suitable for a chamber setting. A small stage is in many cultural institutions, including, in our musical and drama theatre. It is good because it gives a certain freedom to experiment. This is a ground for interesting and unusual even for our usual repertoire of programs.”

According to Paretsky, Small hall will expand the repertoire of the Philharmonic and to increase the number of programs doubled. It should be noted that hall, though called “small” — does not look close. On the contrary – it looks quite spacious, and according to the Director of the Philharmonic, thanks to the attachable chairs, the number of viewers can be brought to hundreds.

In addition, there are windows in the Small hall, in contrast to the Large and this makes the room cozy and bright. Beautiful curtains, as well as paintings and photographs on the walls give coziness. This time the paintings were borrowed from the works, which were presented at the exhibition “Music in colors” that took place in “Art-Donbass”. As for the photos, then the author – is photographer Nikolay Kray. However, Paretsky said that photos and paintings on the walls of the hall will be changed periodically. For example, next in turn are the works of the finalists of the competition “Sergei Prokofiev and his music for children.” So, it will be something to see for lovers of fine art in the Small hall.

The first concert in the Small hall was started by a string Quartet with the participation of first violin of the orchestra of the Philharmonic society, honored artist Vladimir Gamar, performing works of Mozart. Also the music of such prominent composers as Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Shostakovich and others performed at the opening. The most memorable was “Ave Maria” by Schubert in an excellent performance of singer Karina Amirkhanyan.

Recall that Paretsky said about the upcoming opening of the Small hall in February. It was originally planned to open the hall in the 20’s of March. Add that this room was originally at the Philharmonic, however, was used as a rehearsal and the concerts had not been carried out in it. The next concert in the Small hall will be held on May, 13. The program will be called “the Joy of love” and to consist of romances and popular songs dedicated to this wonderful feeling.

Plan of cultural events that will take place in the capital of the Republic on the 11th of May, 2016 was presented today during hardware meeting in the city administration by the head of Department of culture Alena Elyosydze.

“The management of culture of administration of Donetsk developed a scenario plan of events for Day of Republic. First of all, this is entertainment program “With love for the Republic”, which will be held on May 11, from 15:00 to 21:30 in Central Park of Culture and Rest named after A. S. Shcherbakov. Various children’s playgrounds will be placed in the Park. The main concert program will begin in the evening, from 18:00, which will be attended by Russian artists: Rada Rai, Julia Andreeva and the “Archipelago”, a Vocal Instrumental Ensemble “Good fellows”. In addition, there is an agreement on the performance of group “Bahyt-compote” and Vadim Samoilov, and the group “Agatha Christie”. The concert program will end at 21:30 with fireworks,” said Alena Elyosydze.

On the 23rd of April the presentation of the collection of poems of Donetsk poet and bard Vladimir Skobtsov “Unconquered” was held in the premises of the Foundation “Russian world” in the library named after N. K. Krupskaya.

However, he said that he has complicated relationship with bards, and sharply criticized those who took pre-liberal position:

“We were killed, we were wiped from the face of the earth, and they wrote on the Internet about how Putin is bad” and so forth. For me it was not that tragedy, but the loss, a big loss”.

However, according to the poet, one of the famous bards still dared to come to the festival “Big Donbass”; it was the breakthrough of the information blockade. This bard was Alexander Mirzayan. Mirzayan wrote the afterword to the collection of Vladimir Skobtsov, replying on his work:

“During the war, his talent got its second wind, rising to a high level of civic poetry”

The audience heard examples of civil poetry from the lips of the author himself. Although Vladimir Skobtsov sang not only songs about war, these are now heard at many concerts and recitals in Donetsk. He opened and on the other hand, demonstrating the lyrical and humorous songs, including one dedicated to the native school.

The author said that before the war he essentially didn’t write songs on other people’s poems, however, the military gave him friends, loved ones in spirit, and he changed that rule. Skobtsov sang a song on poems by Vladislav Rusanov, in which are these words: “And you lie there, hugging the Donbass, wider hands.”

Another song – “Requiem” — was written by Skobtsov on the poems of Anna Reviakina.

The collection “Unbroken” was praised by the outstanding poetess Yunna Moritz, who wrote the foreword to the book:

“Today Russian poetry is divided into those who recognized and those who did not recognize this brazen will – under whom tremble! Great poet Vladimir Skobtsov was not recognized, and worse, he is the legendary Orpheus of the Donbass, the great Resistance to shake!”

Talking about himself, Skobtsov underlined:

“I am a man of the city Donetsk. It is very important to me that my grandfathers and great-grandfathers buried in this land.”

“The region is an Outpost of the Russian world. It is a multinational formation, which, in general, is a formula throughout Russia. There are many nationalities on the basis of Russian language, Russian culture… Before the war I was proud of my independence, and when the war started, I realized that without a homeland I am nobody,” added the poet.

The meeting ended with the song “Don’t change my own land.” After that, fans of the author’s works lined up for autographs. It is a pity that its circulation was small, as in the best poetry of Vladimir Skobtsov such as “Unbowed” and “the Apostle”, “My Paradise” — students could likely study the modern history of the struggle of Novorossia.

Pianist from the USA Valentina Lisitsa has performed in the evening on April, 21 on the stage of Donetsk state academic Philharmonic. The concert was held in the framework of the XIX international festival “Prokofiev’s spring” and tour of Lisitsa around the cities of the DPR.

Note that originally this concert was not part of the program of the tour of Lisitsa. But who wanted to hear the virtuoso pianist was so much that the two concerts in Donetsk were not enough. So, Lisitsa went toward the audience, and by popular request she has conducted an additional concert.

Concert of Lisitsa, as expected, drew a full house. In this case, all the tickets were sold out in four days.

We can say that the concert for the audience began with the entrance in the building of the Philharmonic. For them, a string Quartet played in the lobby, singing, classical music, and modern variations on the melody.

The concert was hosted by the Director of a Philharmonic society Alexander Paretsky.

“Today is the first concert in the city of Donetsk in the framework of the XIX international festival of musical art “Prokofiev’s spring”. Prior to that, the festival was held four concerts in other cities of the Republic – Debaltseve, Gorlovka, Ilovaysk and Shakhtersk. Today’s concert is not included in the main program – it was an additional. This is a real gift to the residents of Donetsk from Valentina Lisitsa,” said Parecky, opening the concert.

Musicians from the chamber orchestra “Viola” took the stage first. Under the direction of conductor Vladimir Zavodilenko the orchestra brilliantly performed the works of great composers. The second movement of the Symphony No. 21 by Mozart, the orchestra performed together with Lisitsa.

“Music in times of peace is – a pleasant pastime. During the war it is a vital necessity. Especially during this war, when people of the Donbass are wanted to take away their culture. I see here in the audience thirst not just to join the culture and to connect with it, to grow into it so no one could take it,” said Lisitsa, talking to journalists.

Starting a solo program with “Appassionato” by Beethoven, the pianist has performed music: Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Mozart. Her performance, as always, was unique. Easy and emotionally, playing the classics, she brings to familiar tunes something of her own, personal, investing them with new meanings. Sonata for piano No. 7, which is also called “Stalingrad’s”, sounded particularly strong and relevant.

“The Great Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev belongs to the world, but he was born in the Donbass. And I’m very proud to be performing Prokofiev’s music in his Homeland. And most importantly, I play for the residents of the Donbass, who survived the terrible war and still hear the guns. Prokofiev’s seventh Sonata was written in 1943. He called it “Stalingrad’s”. It was a brutal battle for Stalingrad. And here, performing the Sonata at Prokofiev’s homeland for people affected by war, I feel link of times, and experiencing emotions that are difficult to describe in words. When touching the keys – goose bumps. Because you know that Prokofiev, whom long no longer with us, wrote as if the topic of the day,” said Lisitsa.

After the concert, the audience gave a standing ovation and shouted “Bravo!”. Paretsky admitted Lisitsa in love and thanked her for what she showed courage, visited Donetsk last year.

Recall that the world famous pianist Valentina Lisitsa came to Donetsk in June last year. She gave a big concert at the monument “to your liberators, Donbass”. Then more than ten thousand spectators gathered to listen to the pianist. During this visit Lisitsa decided to visit the towns affected by the Ukrainian aggression – Debaltsevo, Gorlovka, Ilovaysk and Shakhtersk. The concert tour of pianist in the DPR will end on April, 23 by a performance at the gala concert at the “Donbass Opera”.

On April 5, the Art Exhibition Center “ArtDonbass” has summarized the results of the contest-exhibition of children’s works “Sergei Prokofiev and his music for children.” The exhibition featured 123 works. It was attended by children of different ages: the youngest was barely 4 years old, the oldest was 18.

“This year is the 125 anniversary since the birth of our famous countryman – composer Sergei Prokofiev. In this regard, a lot of interesting events are held: concerts, literary-musical evenings, exhibitions. We in turn held this competition. I note that the presented work is not just children’s drawings, and painted music. Our participants listened to music by Sergei Prokofiev and drew what was telling them by their imagination,” said, addressing the meeting, the Director of “ArtDonbass” Ekaterina Kalinichenko.

And really – apart from portraits of the composer, the exhibition can be seen heroes of the music works of Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet, Peter and the Wolf, Prince Igor and even marching grasshoppers. Some work performed at a high level and does not look like children’s drawings. At the others it is noticeable that the authors are small. However, all the pictures are interesting and colorful.

Chairman of the jury became known Donetsk artist Vladimir Shendel. Addressing the participants, he said:

“Some of you become lucky winners, but only the participating in this contest indicates that you feel the music, got in touch with the work of our famous compatriot, with the work of a man who glorified our Donbass and raised our culture to a higher level.”

Kalinichenko said that the competition presented many talented works, but because of the organizers decided not just to give the winners prizes but to reward participants in different nominations. Moreover, each jury member was given the right to declare his nomination. The winners were awarded with diplomas and special prizes from the jury.

Also students of musical schools and artists of the Donetsk Philharmonic performed works by Prokofiev before the audience.
