Director of RT UK’s Chris Wood, in an interview said that the NatWest Bank sent a letter in which it announced its plans to stop working with the TV channel “within two months”. At the request of the management of the TV channel to explain the reasons for this action, representatives of the Bank said that the decision on closing of accounts is internal and not subject to revision.
According to Margarita Simonyan, the channel has not previously received any complaints or notifications from the Bank or other institutions in Britain. She noted that RT is a transparent operation, and this fact can be confirmed by the various Supervisory bodies, repeatedly checking of RT.
“It is obvious that the closure due to political reasons. It is made to shut our mouth so we did not broadcast that we’re telling,” said the chief editor of the channel.
